My sister Emily has told me (or forced might be a better word!) to
write and apologise to everyone on the Pressgang mailing list. She is an
avid fan, naturally, being on the list in the first place and so, was very
upset on discovering that I had sent a chain letter to the mailing lists on
our e-mail connections. She is afraid that the bad 'press' she has received
following our address being linked to what may well be a total and very
unfunny hoax will result in everyone else on the list regarding her with
utter contempt. Naturally I didn't expect such indignant and disgusted
reactions, but she was very annoyed too- and embarrassed - so sorry to you
all. And I hope you don't hold it against her because, like you probably all
are, she is totally obsessed with Pressgang and everything to do with it. In
fact all her friends and family are verging on the suicidal because of the
number of times we have heard the names Julia Sawalha and Dexter Fletcher!!
Anyway, just so long as you don't hold it against her or consider her so
devoid of any consideration or integrity or brains. Still, at least I can
pride myself in having drawn attention to her, so maybe she won't be so shy
to write in in future (not that shyness is a quality I usually associate
with her). Well, sorry for the strangeness of this letter, but I'd better go
now. Alison.
