Murray, I think you may be mistaken. As I've always understood it, the DEADLINE
movie was planned to happen after the 4th series, and when it became clear
that it was not likely to get made then it was decided to make a 5th series
instead. I've personally never quite understood how a PG movie could get
made. Although nothing would please me more than seeing the Junior Gazette
up on the silver screen, it always seemed an unlikely idea. Even a 90 minute
TV movie didn't sound very feasable to me - what time of day would it be shown,
who would it have been aimed at (diehard PG fans or an older, newer audience ?)

As far as Steven Moffat still having hopes for this project I think it's fair
to say that while there's always hope it is highly unlikely to ever happen.
I very much doubt Julia Sawalha would want to do it, although I could be
wrong since she doesn't *seem* to be too busy these days (I haven't seen
her in anything recently), but I'm sure that Dexter Fletcher and the rest
og the Gang would jump at the chance.

Speaking of a PG movie, I stumbled upon Paul Reynolds on TV last night
in LET HIM HAVE IT. I have seen this excellent movie before and Paul
was great in it. It was good to see him in a great, stylish film. The scene
on the rooftop where Paul shoots the policeman reminded me of a bit of location
hunting that I did a few years ago. I was convinced that the factory
building where this scene was shot was just 5 minutes from where I live.
I went there and found the building I was thinking of and it was almost
identical to the one in the film. I was thrilled to think that Paul and
the LET HIM HAVE IT crew had been filmimg here, but unfortunately the closer
I looked at the building and the surrounding houses I realised I was
mistaken ! Still, it was fun while it lasted !
